Team,
Just wanted to give everyone the latest as best I can right now. I’m also working on a more official update channel so this stuff is easier to find.
Quick status
• The election results were officially certified one week after the vote count.
• The USW has sent a formal request for information to Conoco’s attorney. They have three weeks to turn it over so our bargaining teams have everything we need.
• A short survey will go out to every member before negotiations start so we know exactly what’s most important to you.
Bargaining team
We’re putting the teams together now.
• One Operations rep and one Maintenance rep from each field.
• Willow is its own bargaining unit and will have the same setup
If you’re interested in being on the team, hit me up directly (Bryan Goode- Alpine or Will Kholeif- Kuparuk). This is a big commitment and a real responsibility, but it’s also the seat at the table we fought for.
Logistics (Anchorage sessions)
• We’re planning 2–3 day sessions, roughly once a month.
• If you’re on shift: wages kept whole + travel and lodging covered.
• If you’re off shift: travel and lodging covered, but no pay for your time.
We’re trying to make this as painless as possible:
• Off-shift members may be able to join via Zoom/Teams for at least part of the sessions (tech permitting).
The USW is assigning a chief negotiator to work with us the whole way through. We’ve got a lot of flexibility on our side and I’m confident we can solve the logistical headaches together.
Next step
I’m targeting March 11 to have the bargaining team locked in (or at least a solid list of volunteers).
We have not had anyone from Kuparuk Maintenance step forward yet- I strongly urge the maintenance group to put a name forward so your unique concerns are addressed during bargaining.
Let me know:
1. Are you interested?
2. How do you think we should pick the team — quick consensus or actual vote?
Shoot me a text or call whenever — I know nobody likes the group text blast.
This is our chance to shape the contract we actually want. Let’s put in the work.
Thanks,
Bryan Goode
P.S. Hope you savages are all staying safe and out of jail.
