Stand & Fight or Kneel & Die.

I was talking with coworkers the other day about our future here and he said "We live on our feet or die on our knees."
"Isn't the expression 'I rather DIE on my feet than live on my knees' ?" I think you have it backwards.
He shook his head, "No, I got it right for our situation- we either stand up and fight, and we all keep our jobs, or we kneel in subjugation and get fired one at a time. So in our case- We live on our feet or die on our knees. I don't see kneeling down or sitting this out as an option- if we don't fight back they are going to pick us off in 1's and 2's. "
I thought about it for a second and said "yeah, it pains me to EVER have to say this to you, but you're right....I think your saying is better."
They think we're too expensive, they are going to weed us out- 7-10 years from now there won't be hourly company hands left. Even current Step 2's will be gone because we're already overpaid in management's eyes. We fight OR we die. Any fear of getting fired over this is misplaced, your execution date is already picked, you just haven't been informed yet. Are you going to grovel until your time is up? When is security going to escort you out? Next year? 3 years? The next time the price of oil crashes? We had 60 co-workers get on that 'special' flight a few weeks ago, most had no idea their time was up. Find your feet, stand up and fight, the day is coming when we'll ask you to sign cards with us. That's the day you choose to control your own destiny or let some Houston Texas HR jerk decide when your career is over.
"Live on your feet or die on your knees. "
